Special fx Contact Lenses

What Are These Freaky Eye Contacts Called FX?

Wicked FX contacts are lenses with special effects… FX = Effects … get it?

They are designed to give the appearance of a freaky creature from another world.

Nothing else can finish off your costume perfectly than a pair of wicked contacts. You can be sure to be the centre of the party with stand-out-from-the-crowd special effects contacts lenses.

There are many varieties available now

… such as wild, mirrored, glow in the dark and theatrical contacts. You can look like a zombie, vampire, a demon, a monster or any other scary or spooky being.

There are styles out there to fit any need.

FX contact lenses were made popular in the film industry but with the introduction of the internet retail market they have since been made available to the public to buy or order online. They are still very popular in movies as special effects lenses and are good for any film scene mostly focusing on horror and action movies.

These fx contacts are like no ordinary contacts lenses …

They are wacky and they make a statement. Some people may refer to them as novelty contacts and others as theatrical lenses. Special fx contact lenses are designed for those who love trying out new things and it lets them explore and have fun. Also for those who usually wear normal contacts they can give the opportunity to try out new and exotic effects.

FX’s are targeted towards a different crowd …

… at those who enjoying clubbing, going to parties and for special occasions like halloween. These eye accessories would seriously look out of place and weird if someone wore them as an everyday occasion.

Shock your friends at an event. They can certainly create a buzz with a targeted audience watching a movie and therefore the movie will make lots of sales and become a blockbuster. This is because using realistic eyes to imitate monsters or witches will help the movie become more interesting and fun.

There are different types of fx theatrical contact lenses

You can purchase them with hand painted zebra prints, others can be blacked out and some can make your eyes completely red or white. Others can make your eyes look like an animal’s eyes, such as a werewolf or a cat. There are also costume contacts which cover a particular part of your eyes and others cover the eye fully. They are not for everybody.

Dare to be different.

Consult your optician when you are considering using any kind of contact lenses. They need good care and handling to get the best out of them. Do not share lenses with family or friends and store them in solution when not in use.

I would love to get a hold of a pair of your contacts! I live in South Africa and would like to know where i could possible get a pair and what the cost price would be and how long they would last for…? I would also like to know what colour would best be suited for me; I have dark brown hair and my eye colour is a dark hazel with green being the prominent colour.

Please get back to me ASAP as I am hosting a glow in the dark party next month!

    Thank you so much

Hi Suzanne, you can buy them online. Just click on any of the images on the left of the page or on the links you see highlighted throughout the articles and it will take you to an online contact lenses store. What color you choose is really up to you .. perhaps you can experiment with a few designs to see which ones you like best. Some will enhance the color of your eyes and others will change the color completely. You can even get glow in the dark ones for your party :-)
